Introduction to sewing 

Date:  Saturday 2nd April   2022   10 - 4 pm       

Location: The vestry, SA38 9BS Newcastle Emlyn 

If you need to start from the beginning, this is a thorough introduction to the sewing machine and essential sewing techniques to get started. 


What you will learn:

  • how to thread a sewing machine

  • my recommended pick for sewing tools

  • how to adjust tension, stitch length and width.

  • how to use a basic pattern and cut fabric 

  • how to hem, topstitch and basic finishing

In the morning you will learn how to use the machine. A thorough walk through the threading and how tension works as well as troubleshooting broken needles and wonky bobbins. 

In the afternoon, you will be making a drawstring bag. Starting with some important knowledge about fabric cutting and pattern handling followed by completing the project.

If you are having a covid related last-minute change, I will offer to redeem the value of your workshop within a year.  

In the unlikely event, I have to cancel the class, your course will be fully refunded.

Missed classes cannot be reimbursed or deducted from the course price.
