What You'll Learn in Copy Your Wardrobe

  • techniques to rub off the pattern of your chosen garment without having to take it apart.

  • how to pattern cut simple pattern elements

  • how to modify the pattern for fit or style

  • how to create your own mown material list

  • how to identify the most suitable fabric for a successful recreation

  • how to elaborate your own sewing order for sewing the garment

  • sewing techniques relating to your garment

Before the course, I will be in touch to discuss with you the garment you are planning to recreate, and offer advice about the fabric that would be most suitable and any requirements there may be.

The first day is dedicated to creating a pattern from your existing garment. You will learn techniques to extract pattern pieces and ensure your pattern will work together. These skills will be able to be transferred to any other garment you may have at home also.

On the second day, you will be sewing your garment. Here we will be able to decipher the techniques that are needed to recreate the garment. This is called reverse engineering and it's a fantastic way to learn.

All the while there is tea flowing and snacks are on hand too.

Spaces are limited to 6 students per class to provide the ultimate learning experience, this also ensures there will be plenty of time for personal fitting, advice and support.

What previous students have to say...

Camille and sewing student, their back facing to the camera are discussing a dress camille is holding on a wooden hanger

"Camille was brilliant at ensuring my expectation to complete a project in the given time ensured I left feeling like I’d really accomplished something and had fun doing it"

— Hannah

I have loved all my courses with you. What a journey. From a simple top to be able to change a pattern, copy something, try all different fabrics. It’s not just the projects that change, but also my approach to sewing, why I do it, what I want to achieve changes too.
